Hike in Eagle Point Nature Preserve

The beautiful Eagle Point Nature Preserve at 665 Black Rd in Salisbury spreads over 200 acres of scenic forests, providing a serene escape surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery. The trail loops span over three miles, winds through various types of indigenous forests, and follows the tree-lined shores of High Rock Lake to different observation points with magnificent views.

The Preserve is a natural habitat for North Carolina’s indigenous wildlife, and white-tailed deer, raccoons, bald eagles, barred owls, and wild turkeys are often seen along the trails, and kingfishers, egrets, and herons around the lake.

Fish in High Rock Lake

The 15,000-acre High Rock Lake on the Yadkin River is the second-largest lake in North Carolina. It’s a very popular boating and fishing spot where anglers boast regular catches of bass, bluegill, catfish, crappie, and sunfish from the shore or boats. High Point Nature Preserve offers easy access to the water and Tamarac Marina at 9120 Bringle Ferry Road in Salisbury has public boat ramps and offers boat rentals.
