Kia Warranty in Salisbury, NC - Randy Marion Kia

Although Kia offers an industry-leading warranty for your powertrain, there may come a time when you want to enhance your peace of mind by purchasing a Kia extended warranty. Whether you have a new Kia vehicle or a Certified Pre-Owned Kia, you can buy a Kia protection plan at your Kia dealer at any time.

Kia’s protection plans have three tiers so you can customize the amount of protection your vehicle has. In general, your protection plan can extend your warranty coverage for up to 150,000 miles for most plans. This might be ideal if you purchase a CPO or used Kia since the 10-year/100,000-mile Kia powertrain warranty is only applicable to the first owner of your vehicle.

Powertrain Plan

The Powertrain Plan is the most basic level of coverage for an extended warranty. This plan focuses on repairing and replacing parts of the powertrain that are damaged by mechanical defects. These powertrain components include seals, gaskets, pumps, lubricated parts, the drive axle, transmission, and the engine.

Gold Plan

The Gold Plan provides coverage for the most important parts of your vehicle. In addition to all of the parts covered under the Powertrain Plan, this middle-tier plan will cover hybrid motor parts, electric motor parts, the suspension system, steering, air conditioning, and brakes.

Platinum Plan

The Platinum Plan offers the most robust amount of coverage and is essentially an extended version of a new Kia’s factory bumper-to-bumper coverage. The Platinum Plan is considered exclusionary, which means it will cover mechanical defects for virtually all vehicle components that are not listed on the exclusion list.

The exclusion list for this warranty includes many wear-and-tear parts that are generally worn down by normal vehicle usage or replaced as part of routine maintenance. Wear-and-tear parts are vehicle components such as the catalytic converter, shock absorbers, brake pads, windshield wipers, fluids, manual transmission clutch parts, and exterior paint.

Ask Your Kia Dealer: Why Should You Buy a Kia Extended Warranty?

An extended warranty is a great option if you plan to own your vehicle for a long time or if you have a used Kia. When the factory warranty on your vehicle expires, you will be on the hook for the full cost of repairs for defective parts. However, an extended warranty plan can drastically decrease your repair bill by covering most, if not all, of the repair and replacement costs for covered vehicle components.

Overall, a vehicle protection plan is a great way to have peace of mind as a car owner since extended coverage can shield you from major repair costs. Get in touch with Randy Marion Kia in Salisbury, NC to learn about your warranty options.
