2023 Kia Seltos
The Kia Seltos sits in the Kia lineup between the Soul and the Sportage, with a unique look and impressive capabilities. For the 2023 model year, the Seltos has a new acoustic glass windshield, and the S trim now comes with added safety systems. Also, for 2023, a larger 10.3-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system is now available. Here's a look at some of the equipment and features you can get with the latest Seltos.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Seltos is the LX. It comes with 17-inch wheels, keyless entry, tinted rear windows, and automatic halogen headlights. A bump up to the S trim adds roof rails, fog lights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, and heated side exterior mirrors. The EX comes with a sunroof, and the Nightfall Edition has 18-inch wheels and black exterior trim elements. At the top of the Seltos lineup, the SX adds to its standard features with LED headlights, fog lights, and a two-tone roof.
Engine (Power)
The base engine for the Seltos is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine that puts out 146 horsepower. It also uses a continuously variable automatic transmission. The SX and Nightfall Edition models use a 1.6-liter turbo four-cylinder engine with 175 horsepower and a seven-speed automatic transmission. All Seltos models except the S come standard with all-wheel drive. The S offers front-wheel and all-wheel drive options.
Performance
Both powertrains have their advantages. The entry-level engine is perfect for zipping around city streets and offers quick acceleration in stop-and-go traffic. The turbo four-cylinder has the extra power you want for merging and passing on the highway. The ride in the Seltos stays smooth and comfortable over most roads, and its small size makes it easy to maneuver and park in tight spots.
Interior
The Seltos has room for up to five people. It comes with cloth upholstery and a height-adjustable driver's seat at the entry-level. The S adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel and automatic climate control, and the EX has simulated leather upholstery and heated front seats. Bumping up to the SX gets you a sport steering wheel and cargo cover.
Technology in the Seltos starts with an 8-inch touchscreen, a USB port, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, and a six-speaker stereo. The higher trims add a 12-volt power outlet, and you can get a 10.25-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system that has navigation and satellite radio.
Safety Features
Every 2023 Kia Seltos has a comprehensive suite of advanced driver aids. It comes with forward collision warning with automatic braking, lane-departure warning, pedestrian detection, a driver attention warning system that issues an alert if the driver appears fatigued, and automatic high-beam headlights. It also comes with a rearview camera, lane-follow assist, lane-keep assist.
The S and above trims have a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, and the SX adds an adaptive cruise control system, auto-dimming rearview mirror, safe exit assist, and Kia's Highway Driving Assist system, which uses an advanced version of adaptive cruise control and lane-centering.
